Finished Object: Slanted Eyelet Scarf

I don't get to say this very often, but I finished something!!  I knit this scarf almost entirely on the way to and from New York.  Just picture me knitting fast and furiously with my noise-cancelling headphones on trying to forget that I'm 36,000 feet in the air.

I really like how it turned out, but I think it might have been more interesting with a different yarn - something a little more exotic.  You can't see the pattern very well in these pictures, but it has an eyelet pattern and is slanted.  The pattern is from my 2006 Knitting Calendar, which had a different pattern for every day.  I started this scarf with some yarn from the stash that I originally intended to be a felted purse (Lamb's Pride Worsted) at one of those moments when I just had to start something new.  I wish it was a bit longer, but I didn't want to break into another skein of yarn just to get an extra couple inches on this scarf.  Sometimes a nice, simple, scarf project is just what you need, huh?

It looks really good! I think just the fact that it kept you calm during the flight makes it a great success. =) Does that stitch pattern lie flat or curl?

Surprisingly enough, after I blocked it lies almost completely flat!

What a great scarf! I had tried to leave a comment earlier on your "to knit while traveling for work" post - I say go for it with the knitting. I always travel w/ my knitting for work & colleagues always find it cool & unexpected. I've never seen anyone view my work capibility to be less & it shows that the stereotypes are so "wrong." Knit on!

It's so pretty. And my comment has nothing to do with wheedling. Did you get to use your new word this week?

Very pretty! I love the color - and I agree, sometime's we just need to start a new project, no matter how many others are on the needles!

The color is beautiful - I'm surprised that's Lamb's Pride Worsted because it looks sooo silky. Great job!
